No idea what ore is more profitable, right? Well look no further!
Block Ships and Ammunitions Corporation (BSAC) manages the largest mineral reserve in EVE. Recently, we created six Mineral Index Funds that trade exclusively in the mineral market across the largest hubs and are 100% liquid.
To aid miners in their quest to maximum profit for their hard work, we added ore incomes (ISK per m3) to our Website. Ore incomes are based on the ôregularö ore and assume no loss to refining or standings. Prices are calculated using the ôsell itö Index price.
Price per unit? To determine the price per unit or income per unit simply multiply the ore income by its volume. For instance, to determine Veldspar price per unit multiply Veldspar income times 0.1.
If you want the most profit and consider yourself a miner/manufacturer you need to separate both professions. As a miner you must mine the most profitable ore. As a manufacturer, sell some of your mined minerals and purchase the minerals that are not worth mining for. For instance, mine Veldspar, sell tritanium, and purchase Isogen. You can acquire Isogen almost two times faster if you mine Veldspar than if you mine Omber.
Remember, mining and manufacturing are two separate professions. Optimize both and do not cheat one side from the other.

Originally by: Lexia Stone More people mining veld to buy isogen = less omber being mined = less isogen on the market = higher price for isogen?
LetÆs ignore recycled mission loot for a moment. If everyone mines Veldspar, I agree, the value of Omber would go up.
Originally by: Lexia Stone I'm terrible at economics but if everyone's mining veld, where are all the other mins gonna come from?
At some point it would become more profitable to mine Omber instead of Veldspar, so people would start mining Omber. Prices are dynamic and miners should focus on the most profitable ore. Use the Exchange to determine which ore is most profitable one.

We have about 32 B in minerals actively trading on the markets and another 312 B in Reserve for the unexpected.
Quoted prices are based on the individual Index Fund transactions, mineral vault, open market price, and Forge Index. Prices are very volatile and change daily.

Originally by: Tyran Scholus Not even this, in my opinion. The number of Veldspar asteroids in a system is limited, and when they're exhausted I start mining other things. The system I mine in is fairly low-population, but the ones around it are usually pretty crowded, so for me it's a waste of time to move around a lot rather than mine what I can where I am.
Hopefully, you start mining the next most profitable ore. ThatÆs where this website helps. Most miners are unaware which ores are the most profitable, and whether or not they should move to the next system seeking higher returns.
PS I have seen people mined Omber when there is plenty of Veldspar around simply because they need Isogen.

Mining and manufacturing are two different and independent professions and most players mixed them all the time. They totally disregard the concept of opportunity cost.
As a miner your goal is to maximize your ISK per hour (revenues). You find the best ore to mine and sell it to the highest bidder.
As a manufacturer your goal is to maximize your revenues. You purchase the cheapest minerals you can find (within reasonable range) and sell your products as high as you can within reasonable time.

Liz, You are still thinking of mining and manufacturing as a single profession. Most of the time, a mining site that offers you the best opportunity as a miner is not in the location where your manufacturing takes place.
Originally by: Liz Laser a) doesn't my selling Veldspar to buy isogen help some manufacturer set up shop in my favorite system? (using the trit I sold her).
As a miner, yes, you want a nearby place where there is plenty of demand so you can sell minerals at a high price. This is what any focus miner would do.
Originally by: Liz Laser b) Won't my buy orders for isogen attract miners, who might then strip the Veldspar too, thus making me just a manufacturer?
As a manufacturer, you want a place where orders are filled fairly cheap and within a reasonable time. Usually is best to manufacture a few jumps away from where youÆre selling.
If you do it right, you (the miner) will be selling minerals for more than you will be buying minerals (the manufacturer). This opens the option of mineral trading profession.

Originally by: Elysianfield Are the prices listed on your website quotes for what you will buy/sell the ores minerals for, or just a quick, up to date summary of what the current market price is?
If you do buy/sell directly, where do we go to make the transactions? And do you have a minimum transaction level? (as in, only batches of say 100,000 or larger?)
Buy/sell prices are based on actual trades at major hubs (Jita, Rens, Ammar, Oursulaert, Hek, etc). So these are average prices across several regions. Jita off course has a heavy weight on it.
Volumes vary a lot depending on supply/demand. Some days I trade billions while other days is only tens of million ISK.

The mineral reserve dollar (MRD) is EVEÆs first commodity dollar. Its value is backed by minerals according to the MRD standard. For more information on commodity money and its uses please read the following wikipedia article: Commodity_money.
Historical values of the MRD can be found Here. As you can see from the graph, investors would buy MRDs at a low - like right now, wait till the price goes up, then sell at a higher value.
You buy and sell MRDs using the Exchange. MRDs are 100% liquidable, meaning you can cash them anytime at the quoted price. Hope this helps. Don't hesitate to ask questions.
MRD Currency Standard 18,000 MRD = 850 units Tritanium + 480 units Pyerite + 78 units Mexallon + 26 units Isogen + 20 units Nocxium + two units Zydrine + one unit Megacyte

Ore Income assumes you have perfect refine and sell the minerals not the ore. With a few exceptions due to a mission, raw ore is typically sold cheaper than minerals.
Income rate accounts for volume, i.e. ISK/m3. Remember, lasers pull out same m3 independent of ore.
